RESEÑA: lady midnight DE cassandra clare
(los artificios oscuros #1)
TÍTULO: Lady Midnight
AUTORA: Cassandra Clare
Y no puedo no mencionar a Julian Blackthorn.
¿Me gustó?¡MUCHÍSIMO!
¿Lo recomiendo? ¡Absolutamente!

book review: LADY MIDNIGHT by CASSANDRA CLARE
(the dark artifices #1)
TITLE: Lady Midnight
AUTHOR: Cassandra Clare
SERIES/TRILOGY: yes, The Dark Artifices trilogy.
SYNOPSIS: In a kingdom by the sea…
In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons, parabatai is a sacred word.
A parabatai is your partner in battle. A parabatai is your best friend. Parabatai can be everything to each other—but they can never fall in love.
Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. Shoulder to shoulder with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where vampires party on the Sunset Strip, and faeries—the most powerful of supernatural creatures—teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. When the bodies of humans and faeries turn up murdered in the same way Emma’s parents were when she was a child, an uneasy alliance is formed. This is Emma’s chance for revenge—and Julian’s chance to get back his brother Mark, who is being held prisoner by the faerie Courts. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two weeks…and before the murderer targets them.
Their search takes Emma from sea caves full of sorcery to a dark lottery where death is dispensed. And each clue she unravels uncovers more secrets. What has Julian been hiding from her all these years? Why does Shadowhunter Law forbid parabatai to fall in love? Who really killed her parents—and can she bear to know the truth?
WHY DID I DECIDE TO READ IT?
Honestly, and I hate to admit it, I didn't know what else to read. I didn't want to read this book 'cause, if I did, I would have to read the other books of the trilogy. And, believe me, I'm a super-mega fan of the shadowhunters world, but I was tired of reading every single book the author put on sale. (Read more about it here!) But, here I am, again, alucinating with this book and dying to have more news about the second one!
WRITING STYLE
Cassandra Clare's writing style returns as always: poetic and passionate. Her writing is just BEAUTIFUL! It's definitely one of my favourites! Many could think it's exaggerated, but Cassandra isn't ashamed to show the romanticism inside her. Her words are full of metaphors and lovely descriptions that have blown my mind!! Her words contain magic that'll shockingly take you inside the story. I think I'm still kinda living in the L.A. Institute... still. You won't be able to stop reading! Her writing's like glue! Cassandra Clare fills her book with gorgeous reflections and thoughts from the soul...
CHARACTERS
When I first started the book, I thought the protagonist, Emma Carstairs, was selfish. I even had reasons to think so. REAL reasons. But now... Emma has done so many things through the story that make me hate myself for thinking her selfish. The sacrifices she's made... It's left me speechless.
And I can't not mention Julian Blackthorn. GOD'S ABOVE! And I though was the perfect guy on Earth... But I'll say no more, 'cause you should discover it by yourself and ENJOY him.
CONCLUSION
I had my doubts about reading Lady Midnight because I thought it couldn't be good. But, oh, how very wrong I was. This book is the return of the shadowhunters world and it's breath-taking. You won't be able to stop reading and the secrets that will be unveiled will leave you speechless. IT'S A MASTERPIECE!
Did I like it? ABSOLUTELY!
Do I recommend it? Completely! But you have to read the other books first.
If you still have doubts about reading it, FORGET IT! READ THIS FREAKINGLY AMAZING BOOK! I SWEAR YOU'LL LOOOVVEEEE IT!!
